Fools paradise !!

Today ( Feb 12th ) is the Bangalore Bandh - for protesting against Cauvery tribunal's verdict. Let me observe this objectively.
Bandh : Bandhs are illegal in this great nation of ours. We needed Bandhs to eradicate the British - but bandhs are like self goals, inflicting injury on ourselves, setting your own shoe on fire, hit wicket - wish those boneheads understand the negative impact Bandhs create - It makes irreversible damage to the economy, image of India, investments, our work schedule. Now will this Bandh do any good to the cauvery verdict? No. Will it change the opinion of a single soul who has the power to do anything about it? No. What does it achieve other than doing all the damages I mentioned? Nada.

Banning Tamil Channels : This is the most ridiculous "protest" I have ever heard. How does "boring" tamilians ( who watches Tamil Channels other than my poor mom and her friends ) achieve the result of pissing Tamilians that they will give back the water? Fools.

Daily labourers : We the blessed lot of this country will compensate on a Saturday - grudgingly - or take the day off using up our precious privelege leave quota. What will the poor day labourer do - who work day to day, who cannot compensate on a saturday - because its his working day , nor take a privelege leave because they are not privleged. Who do you think these goondas, politicians are hurting? - their own vote bank, their own people they are dishing out speeches on. Fools.

Lorries from across the border: I read of the plight of the poor lorry drivers from Tamil Nadu who are stopped at the border ( wait - I thought India had only borders with its neighbouring countries ) - and are allowed only in the night to enter Karanataka. Loads that take 3 days to reach from TN to Mumbai now take 6 days. Calculate the loss. Also I heard the cost of a poor chicken has shot up from 65Rs to 85Rs - in Karnataka. Pretty soon the price of non-Karnataka manufactured goods will go through the roof. Its a delicate equilibrium that is being maintained - every one loses. Fools.

I can go on and on about this cauvery issue that is kept hot by politicians - because they think the only way they can be heard/seen is by supposingly working on these issues - keeping them alive. They do not think that doing a good deed or two is going to get them publicity too. Why arent they educating the poor masses that there are other means to fight it out - other than inflicting injury on yourself. The more I think about this it angers me to no end. In all this noise I do not hear a single voice of reason, intelligence. Its madness in this paradise of a land - run by fools, controlled by fools. Sad.
